***Spoilers***


I'm doing one class/type of characters at a time. I'll give rating best/good/ok/worst . I'll also give an attack profile for them. Unless otherwise stated, there is no bonus EXP factored in. When completed I will update with Affinities, equipable weapons, and "The Perfect Team"....

~Mages~


Micaiah "Good"

Although she is not cut out for much fighting; her ability to use staves(Light Sage) makes her more useful than Laura. Her MAG and RES are quick in gaining stats, yet she doesn't gain much SPD or HP. Because you have to take her in every mission she is in... I'd say regardless of her weak attack, she's good at just being a staff-user.


Ilyana "Ok"

She's not as good as Soren, But the extra levels she gains (in part one.) makes her the second best anima mage. Because she uses thunder her chance of doubling is smaller than Soren or Calill. However her thunder is effective against wyverns and dragons.


Calill "Ok"

She isn't in the game enough to level up much. Her fire is only effective against the few beast Laguz you fight. Plus she has Soren to contend with. All-in-all, she sucks.


Soren "Best"

He uses wind, the best tome, he has good a growth rate, and comes ready to attack at your enemies. What more can I say?


Bastian "Worst"

Ugh. He comes to late in the game to make a difference... He doesn't really trump anyone else for stats.(At level --/--/10.) He is only good for lazy people who don't want to level up anyone else...

~Myrmidon Class~

Edward "Best"

He is in from the begining of the game and has plenty of chapters before the end. He has has male caps,(Higher strength, less RES. etc.) which is probably why he is better than Mia. He can't dodge very well, but has good growth rates otherwise.


Zihark "Worst"

Bad Strength growth. He also is always with a better Swordmaster in parts one and three.


Lucia "Ok"

Uh... Since her level is established,(Unlike Zihark.) She is slightly better...Slightly.


Mia "Good"

Arguably the best at dodging, yet her caps kill some of her usefulness. She is better than Edward for most of the game, But when they start capping abilities Edward comes out slightly better.


Stefan "Ok"

Good for a late-game arrival, but not better than Edward or Mia. He might reach Mia's stats but I doubt it.

~Archers~

Leonardo "Ok"

Leonardo uses bows only... What more can I say? He might have this stat or that stat, but bowmen rarely are able to counterattack so he's more of a liability. Although bowmen are effective indoors.


Rolf "Worst"

He comes at a time where balistae are high in quantity. Since Shinion is in the same chapters, he is mostly useless.

Shinion "Best"

What sets him apart from Leo and Rolf: his high level. Once he is a marksman, he has a range of three with all bows.(Leo/Rolf also have that ability, they just have longer to go.) Although he still can rarely counterattack, his range makes up for it.

~Priest Class~

Laura "Good"

Th few chapters she has to level up is bad, however you will definitely have to use her in those chapters. She has good growths even so.

Rhys "Best"

His base stats are good his growths are good and he can do minor fighting. No doubt the best.

Oliver "Worst"

He sucks his base stats are bad. Even Laura can beat him by that level --/--/08.

~Thief Class~


Sothe "Best"

Part one is almost impossible without using him and he always takes up one space when preparing for the final mission. Even though the Thief class doesn't have the best caps, he will be one of your best units if you use him.

Heather "Worst"

It is slightly unfair to call her "the worst", but since there are only two rogues and Sothe is better... Use her when you need locks picked and don't have Sothe, but she won't replace him.

~Knight Class~



Meg "Worst"

Without bonus experience she'll die from the start. With BXP she'll require healing every turn. Her defense is nonexistant and her strength is low. Although her resistence grows fast. Depite that, she isn't the "worst" unit in the game.

Taroneo "Good"

Part what makes Meg bad is the fact that he is better the her and comes in nearly the same number of chapters. He isn't the best, but he has good growths. Use him if you need, however don't overuse him in the early chapters.

Brom "Best"

He starts mid-game and stays with it for most of the game. He has excellent growths. He uses axes, so all of the lance-wielders you fight are at a disadvantage. He is somewhat slow, but he is worth it.

Gatrie "Good"

His class suits him. High strength and defense, low resistence and speed. Nothing bad, nothing extremly good.
